Alex travelled to Paris to lead talks between the UK and France concerning defence matters.
Alex discussed plans to work together to boost ammunition supplies, as well as future projects such as directed energy weapons to counter drones and other threats.
The talks were warm and constructive. Writing on Facebook, Alex said:
"Very warm and constructive talks in Paris today with a French team led by my opposite number Emmanuel Chiva, the French Délegué General pour L’Armement.
"In an uncertain world, France and the UK will work cooperatively to address joint challenges - from securing supply chains to driving forward research & development projects."
