Tackling Social Media and Poor Mental Health

Away from Brexit, something happened in Parliament this week which I believe marks a decisive step forward in tackling poor mental health in our young people, including here in Cheltenham.

Boots Corner and Brexit

Although I was disappointed by the decision to continue with the Boots Corner trial, I was particularly surprised by the language used in the council chamber to attack my constituents who have perfectly legitimate concerns about the scheme.

Cross-Party Talks

I am writing this at 10:30 pm on Tuesday evening in the House of Commons library. The Prime Minister’s Brexit deal agreed with the EU has just been annihilated, smashed to smithereens by MPs. Tomorrow the House will hold a vote of no confidence in the Government. 

Goals for 2019

Very Happy New Year. I hope you had a good celebration. Sarah and I were lucky enough to spend it at a wedding in Manor by the Lake in Cheltenham. 

The Post-Christmas Clean Up (and the Cheltenham Recycling Consultation)

There are certain guaranteed features of our family Christmases in Cheltenham. Extended family coming to stay, church service in St Mary’s, warring children (obviously…), walks in Cox’s Meadow or up Leckhampton Hill.

And then the great clear up begins.
