Alex recently met with Cheltenham Autistic Social Group to understand the challenges they face with finding a job.
Following lobbying from Alex, the Government has awarded Gloucestershire £210,000 to help adults with learning disabilities and autism to move into work.
The funding and support will include assigning job coaches who can carry out vocation profiling, engage employers and provide in-work support to help people to maintain that employment.
This is part of the Government's plan to help a million more disabled people in work by 2027.
Alex said: "We know that those with autism and learning disabilities can face particular barriers to employment so I am delighted that Cheltenham will benefit from £210,000 funding to break down those barriers and secure effective employment to help more people in Cheltenham reach their full potential."
