After growing increasingly frustrated by the unreliable bus service provided by Stagecoach, Alex robustly challenged the company's senior management.
In response to pressure from Alex and the wider community, Stagecoach agreed to publish an action plan to drive up reliability and capacity, including measures to boost driver recruitment and improve working conditions.
Early signs are that it is bearing fruit, with reliability starting to improve.
But Alex remained concerned that the plan proposed the withdrawal of Service F which connects Leckhampton with the town centre.
GCC subsequently agreed to his calls to put a bid for a replacement F service out to tender. That has been successful, and Marchants have stepped in.
Alex has received really positive feedback from residents about Marchants’ service, which is proving reliable and comfortable.
