Below you will find some on-the-day information for your visit to Parliament
Food and facilities
We advise that you bring a packed lunch and supper to eat on the coach whilst travelling.
We will be returning on the same coach so it is possible to leave items on the vehicle.
The coach does have a toilet on board.
Disabled facilities and other requirements
If you have any requirements, difficulty getting to or from the pick up point, or are concerned about managing health conditions or the amount of walking etc, please call the office to discuss as we can accommodate most needs and want to ensure that you can attend and the day is as easy as possible for you.
The tour route at Westminster is wheelchair accessible, but unfortunately you would need to be able to get up and down the coach steps as it has no level access.
There are folding wheelchairs available to borrow in Westminster. You can bring your own mobility scooter or wheelchair, as long as it folds or is light enough to lift to and from the storage lockers under the coach.
Security and conduct at Westminster
Please be mindful that Westminster is a working environment and take care not to obstruct Members and staff, and to adhere to the rules below. Police on duty do challenge any breach of the rules.
On arrival, we will pass through airport-style security. As you are a guest of your MP, you will not need ID.
The following items are not permitted and will be confiscated: Sharp items e.g. knives (including Swiss army knives) scissors; cutlery, screwdrivers; Paint spray; Padlocks, chains and climbing gear; Items that make a noise (e.g. whistles); Banners, placards and flags; Liquids that are not in sealable containers.
Please try to stay together as a group whilst on the tour, and within the designated public areas during breaks (Westminster Hall, St Stephen’s Hall and the Jubilee Café). Visitors are not permitted in other areas without an escort holding a full security pass
Mobile phones and photography are only permitted in Westminster Hall and St Stephen’s Hall (The tour guide will inform you of this).
Do not sit on any of the benches in either the Lords or Commons chambers. There will be chairs at some points on the tour if you need to sit down.
Point of contact
The group will be accompanied throughout the day by representatives from Alex Chalk’s office.
