As Cheltenham's MP, Alex has been an active supporter of the Women Against State Pension Injustice (WASPI) pensions campaign.
He was a founder member of the All Party Parliamentary Group on State Pension Inequality for Women and has spoken in several debates in Parliament. He also held a public meeting in Cheltenham for women affected by the changes to the state pension age for women born in the 1950s.
Alex has renewed his call for compensation for the 5,600 1950s-born women in Cheltenham by signing the WASPI campaign pledge for fair and fast compensation for 1950s-born women.
Hilary Simpson, national chair of WASPI and co-ordinator of the Cheltenham group, said: “Alex has been a consistent WASPI supporter. We are delighted that he has signed the pledge to highlight our campaign for fair and fast compensation."
