Alex was in Paris to meet the French Justice Minister Eric Dupond-Moretti to discuss the UK and France's ongoing commitment to Ukraine, including how to ensure there is accountability for Russian atrocities.
In a joint statement, Alex and Minister Dupond-Moretti announced that the UK and France:
- Remain committed to supporting Ukraine and to ensure those responsible for committing alleged atrocities are held to account
- Will maintain support for the International Criminal Court
- Will strengthen the positive relationship between our two countries in the field of civil and judicial cooperation
Alex said:
"The UK and France hold many shared values and we discussed how we can work together to help the International Criminal Court bring war criminals to justice.
"In close cooperation with our allies, we will continue to condemn in the strongest terms Russia’s aggression and help hold those responsible to account."
