On Wednesday 27 July, Cheltenham's MP, Alex Chalk, supported an event at Job Centre Plus to connect local people with new opportunities.
The Cheltenham Provider Showcase, organised in partnership with the Job Centre, featured over 25 organisations which offer a range of services, advice and support in many fields. It was open to all Cheltenham residents who would like to find out about free education and training courses, apprenticeships, support for former armed forces members, support for people with health issues or disabilities, housing, debt and money, environmental health and energy affordability.
Alex said “I am very pleased to be supporting this inaugural event which highlights the invaluable work which is quietly done every day across the town in community centres, charities and voluntary organisations as well as by statutory services. We can all face issues and barriers in our lives which affect our employment, housing and health, and many people may not be aware of the free support and advice or opportunities which are available and benefit our town.”
