Cheltenham commemorated the 83rd anniversary of the Battle of Britain at the War Memorial, remembering the day when RAF Fighter Command claimed victory over the German Luftwaffe in 1940.
Alex laid a wreath on behalf of the people of Cheltenham.
The Mayor of Cheltenham, RAFA President Air Marshal Sir Dusty Miller and representatives from the Aden Veterans, Royal British Legion and local squadrons of ATC also laid wreaths.
Alex said:
“Today we honour all those who served in the Battle of Britain 83 years ago, defending our shores and the world against tyranny. These are the few to whom we owe so much. They will not be forgotten.
“As I lay a wreath on behalf of the people of Cheltenham, I will be thinking of the courageous men and women who served our country, fought for our freedoms, and kept us safe at a time of existential threat.”
