Sarah Gallagher - NHS Gloucestershire’s Vaccine Programme Clinical Lead – was thanked by the Health Secretary at 10 Downing Street for her work as clinical lead at the vaccination centre at Cheltenham East Fire Station during the pandemic.
Sarah organised the vaccine rollout across 17 GP practices which included the delivery of more than 320,000 COVID vaccines at Cheltenham East Fire Station.
The achievements of Sarah and her team were recognised by the then Prime Minister as he singled out Cheltenham’s rapid coronavirus vaccine rollout, describing Cheltenham as “shooting the lights out”.
Alex said:
"I was delighted to nominate Sarah Gallagher to be honoured at 10 Downing Street for her herculean contribution to the vaccination effort in Cheltenham.
“Sarah’s colleagues have let me know that they do not believe that the vaccination programme could have begun so quickly or run so efficiently if it hadn’t been for Sarah’s hard work and passion to serve the people of Cheltenham.
“We all owe Sarah and her team a debt of gratitude. Thank you to every last one of you."
