As part of his 'grot spot' campaign, Alex has pressed for CBC and GCC to address local eyesores including potholes, blocked drains and graffiti.
Following Alex's reports since the last update, the councils have:
- Resurfaced St George's Road
- Confirmed that College Baths Road will be resurfaced w/c 27 April
- Removed waste from Vernon Place
- Replaced a barrier on Hatherley Road
- Agreed to remove graffiti from Back Albert Place, Sherborne Street, Albion Street, Grosvenor Terrace, Tom Price Close alleyway and Trafalgar Street
- Agreed to remove glass from the street outside of The Brewery
- Agreed to organised a litter pick on the A40 Golden Valley Bypass
- Confirmed that National Grid will fix a broken street light on the Park
Since the last update, Alex has met with the Highways Department and reported:
- 58 pothole and resurfacing requests
- 8 speeding concerns
- 3 roadwork concerns
- 2 general traffic flow issues
- 2 litter on main roads concerns
- 1 drain issue
