Alex is fighting to ensure that Cheltenham gets its fair share of electric vehicle charge points, after the Government awarded GCC a further £3.6m to boost the rollout throughout Gloucestershire.
Following lobbying from Alex, GCC has announced that Cheltenham will receive 40 new charge points in the first phase of the rollout.
This is the highest number in the county and is double the number being installed in Gloucester and more than double the number being installed in Stroud, Tewksbury and the Forest of Dean.
EV charge points will be installed at the following locations in Cheltenham in the coming months:
- George Readings Way
- Opposite Cypress Court
- Malvern Road
- Pennine Road
- Montpellier Street
- Ewlyn Road
- St Luke's Road
- Overton Park Road
- Sherborne Street
- Montpellier Spa Road
- Manchester Way
- Andover Road and Tivoli Road
