Alex planted a small Scots Pine tree in Pittville Park as a tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth's service.
Chris and Lucy from CBC kindly allowed Alex to dig the hole with the spade used twice by QEII to plant trees in Cheltenham – first as Princess and later as Queen.
The planting was part of The Queen’s Green Canopy which has inspired over a million trees to be planted in the Queen's honour.
The Government has committed to trebling tree-planting rates across the UK by 30,000 hectares per year as part of the landmark England Trees Action Plan, backed up by £675 million of Government funding.
